Abstrak

community service activity aimed to enhance basic financial literacy among elementary school students through a Money Introduction Education program conducted at SD Negeri 3 Wanadri, Bawang District, Banjarnegara Regency. The program was motivated by the limited understanding of students regarding basic financial concepts, the functions of money, and responsible money management. The community service employed an educational, participatory, and contextual approach by actively involving students through interactive lectures, question-and-answer sessions, demonstrations of banknotes and coins, saving simulations, and discussions on honesty values. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of money as a medium of exchange and payment, as well as their ability to distinguish types and denominations of currency. In addition to cognitive improvement, the program positively influenced students’ attitudes and character formation, particularly in fostering honesty, discipline, and saving habits from an early age. Interactive learning methods proved more effective in increasing student participation and engagement. Overall, the Money Introduction Education program was successful and relevant as an effort to strengthen basic financial literacy and support human resource development from an early age.
